The Ultimate Outdoor Experience

At Avon Tyrrell we like to give you options whatever the size of your group or budget and we have what you need to have a fantastic and comfortable stay with us.  Choose from dormitory style bedrooms in our Grade I listed manor house, cosy self-contained forest lodges for those looking for more independence, or tented villages for those groups looking for the ultimate outdoor experience, we have it all.

The Manor House

Our grade I listed calendar house stands as the focal point of our 65-acre estate. Combining historical charm with practical and modern facilities, it makes it the ideal accommodation space for medium to large school groups as it sleeps 20-109 people split across three floors.

Each floor can be isolated using individual electronic keypads, allowing only your group to access the area meaning it’s safe and secure. The spacious rooms sleep between 2 and 10 people and each floor has modern shared bathroom and toilet facilities. 

Group leaders can enjoy separate rooms on each floor with a TV, Wi-Fi and tea and coffee making facilities.  
The house is fully accessible to those with additional needs – with access ramps and lifts to all floors and toilets and wet rooms and toilet facilities.

Communal Areas

When staying in the main house your group will have access to plenty of space to either chill out or run some of your own activities, including access to a TV/DVD player, a pool table, and table football.

Lodges

Our self-contained forest lodges are perfect for schools looking for a bit more independence with 6, 12 and 14 berth lodges available, they can sleep up to 64 people in total. Safe and secure with key coded locks and fully accessible, the lodges are available on a self-catered, part board or full board basis.

Camping

For the ultimate outdoor experience, you can camp out under the stars from March-October. We can provide you with your own space and a pre-pitched tented village as part or you can bring your own equipment and set up camp with your students.

Activities & Packages

With our three-tier pricing structure, there is an option for everyone to get the same high quality outdoor learning experience at a cost both schools and parents can afford. 

Our Birch, Chestnut, and Oak packages for schools, include full board accommodation, catering and a personalised selection from our experience, learn and develop activities. It’s the full package and the price you see is the price you pay unless you add extras. We can also create bespoke packages with the same high quality outdoor learning experience to suit your budget, just let us know what you are looking for and we will do the rest.

Catering & Dietary

To make sure your students are fuelled for the day, we provide full board catering for those staying in the house and can extend this to schools staying in the lodges and camping as well.
